Capt. Brian Sims serves as the Airline Regulatory UPRT Working Group Team Lead for UPRTA, International. With more than 25 years of experience in professional aviation, Brian is currently an Aircrew Program Designee on the B757/767 and Lead Subject Matter Expert in UPRT for Delta Air Lines.

Beginning with Delta’s implementation of UPRT regulations in 2018, Brian’s team of fleet-specific SMEs has seen a 50% improvement in upset events, measured across nearly 7 million flight operations.

As an instructor pilot responsible for training thousands of fellow aviators, Brian’s mission remains clear, to develop the most robust UPRT program in the industry and deliver the safest possible flight operation to his customers and crews.
